This is a good commentary. I've found Dunkirk makes a good double feature with The Darkest Hour. Would you consider also featuring that movie? Thanks and keep up the great work. 0:17 the water is going backwards. Imagine living in the UK at that time, threatened by war, and hearing Churchill's speech on the radio. They say war brings out the worst and the best of Man. I dont know if the politicians of today could rally the people like they did back then. An excellent overview but I cant help feel that this presentation has been too simplified. I say this because theres no mention of the many German attempts at this time regarding the behind the scenes with political negotiations with the Brits as to put an end to this conflict. I suppose Its back to old adage, the victor rights the history books.

I still think this was an amazing film. Stylistically I haven't seen anything I like quite as much in a long time. Who else wants to see a Bridge Too Far covered. Amazing film, and an amazing moment in history. would like to have seen a perspective of those soldiers who had to defend the beach so the germans could not advance. Saving private Ryan, black hawk down still more interesting than this movie. american movie is still the best. THE RIGHTFUL KING OF ENGLAND. Goosebumps. tears in eyes. lump in throat. 70mm IMAX the first day of release. and still now. 0:00 I totally love this rumble, just amazing. Rolls Royce at it's best. 0:21 is one of the best depictions I've seen in any film of an individual making a sudden decision to sacrifice their own life to try & save others.

Thank God for Dunkirk, Thank God the French center collapsed at Sedan, that meant the ocean of blood would be lost along the Don and not the Somme. When I heard Michael Caine as Fortis Leader, a huge wave of nostalgia hit me. The most realistic parts: the german going down and the laryngophone sounds.

The sound of the plane at 1:01 is very loud

I find it unsettling that after several of there comrades just died, they just had to calm down and go on a straight line, like they were waiting to be shot in a firing squad.
